about me
Hi, I’m Cora and I’m so glad you’re here. In my healing journey, breathwork was the most powerful tool for working through unresolved emotional and physical energy that had been accumulating and festering for years. In doing so I created healthy pathways for emotional energy to flow. As I continued to breathe, the focus of my practice shifted from emotional healing to spiritual expansion and exploration. Now, I breathe to meditate, heal, regulate, explore consciousness, and remain in touch with the deepest parts of myself.
In May of 2020, after three years of personal practice, I had the opportunity to get trained in facilitating one-on-one and group sessions with David Elliott. In June 2021, I trained in integrative energy healing, a technique that combines energy healing and breathwork with Millana Snow, and again with David Elliott in August 2021. I’ve also studied Massage Therapy, Reiki, sound and vocal healing, and I’m currently working towards my master’s degree in Traditional Chinese medicine, studying to become an Acupuncturist and Herbalist. During my breathwork sessions, whether private or in a group, I incorporate all of these elements and modalities to facilitate a deeply healing experience for you.
As I began working with others, I realized that guiding others was not separate from my own personal practice. Sharing this work is the next evolution of my journey, and I have just as deep and healing an experience when guiding a session as I do practicing on my own. For this reason and so many more, I am so grateful to share this practice and am so grateful that you have found yourself here reading this. As an active, health-conscious person, I was intrigued by all that I had heard about breathwork - physical and mental health benefits, personal insight, etc. That said, I am not someone who consistently meditates, and my yoga mat has spent most of its life rolled up in my closet. So, candidly, I was apprehensive that I might not be “good” at breathwork prior to my first session with Cora.
Cora spent time before our session in her lovely, warm space to explain the practice from multiple angles. She spoke deeply and knowledgeably to the (Western) medical science perspective, acknowledged gaps in that thinking, and then dove into Eastern medicinal thinking. She even put the breathwork practice into broader context by comparing it to a type of meditation with which I had more familiarity.
Cora is an incredibly warm, open person with a gift for making and holding space for others. As she explained the process, she made it very clear that the direction and depth of my session was up to me. At the same time, she provided enough guidance to make me feel supported.
The session itself involves some sensory-deprivation (blindfold, lying down) as well as music, sound instruments and Cora’s verbal guidance. Her explanation of the breathing pattern was clear, and her continued queues and encouragement were immensely helpful. My personal experience of the practice during my first session was both emotionally and physiologically profound (and intense) - and has sustained over weeks. That said, I can see how subsequent sessions with different intentions would yield totally different experiences/benefits - and Cora’s willingness to discuss her own practice confirmed this. I have spoken to so many friends about this experience and I’m really excited to do it again.
I have been working with Cora for a year, and I look forward to my appointment each week. Her sessions are both relaxing and energizing, and the effects are long-lasting. An expert in the mind/body connection, Cora is highly skilled in her craft. She creates a calm and comfortable environment (even over zoom) to lead the session. She listens and observes carefully, tailoring each hour to match my preferences and energy. To anyone looking to explore breathwork and meditation - I cannot recommend Cora highly enough!
I recently did a breathwork session with Cora and it was one of the most powerful and healing experiences that I’ve had. At first it seems difficult to imagine that a breathing technique could be so powerful – tension-releasing, mind-expanding, incredibly energizing, and a technique that gets you into a meditative state efficiently and effectively.
Cora has a warm, comforting and nonjudgmental nature that makes you feel instantly at ease and heard. I had no background in breathwork techniques and she spent a good amount of time describing the process so that I felt comfortable and knowledgeable. She also has an amazing playlist that will help get you in the zone and inspired instantly! I highly recommend her to anyone – experienced or not, you will have an incredible, holistic, healing experience.
As a person with long term Multiple Sclerosis, much of my relationship with my body revolves around managing pain. Breathwork with Cora changed that relationship by reconnecting me with my body in a non strenuous yet invigorating way. Through guided breath work my mind-body experience changed from simply ignoring pain to increasing relaxation and expanding awareness of the good things in my body.
My breathwork practice with Cora has been an anchoring, challenging, and profoundly fulfilling experience. The meditation itself provides a host of benefits, from instantaneous anxiety relief to long-lasting spiritual exploration. Feeling the physical stimulations of breathwork is always a rush, but its potency can be overwhelming for beginners. This is where Cora's knowledge, compassion, and adeptness comes into play. Not only is she well-versed in meditative practices, but her willingness to form deep connections with her students, even curating personalized playlists to set the proper ambience, makes her breathwork class unique. My excitement for the class grows each week as I challenge my focus and endurance whilst knowing Cora is there to push and support me. During these wild-times, where our worlds' often feel as though they were chaotically and mercilessly spinning out of orbit, I cannot think of a more grounding and comforting remedy.
Cora’s breathwork sessions have truly helped me reconnect with myself. I always end my practice with Cora feeling rejuvenated and energized. Cora’s calm presence and gentle guidance enable her to always meet me where I’m at emotionally. I highly recommend working with Cora if you want an emotional release and/or a total-body reset. Plus, her music selection is spot on every time!
I did my first ever breathwork session with Cora. She made me feel really comfortable and was a great guide and teacher throughout the practice. Cora’s breathwork session helped me connect with a part of my inner self that I rarely interact with on a day-to-day basis. I finished her practice feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
